Pakistan not to recognize legitimacy of any non-inclusive govt. in Afghanistan

Top Afghan politicians and officials fled from Kabul to Islamabad hours before the Taliban took over the capital. Afghanistan is now under the control of the Taliban who are in a consultation process to form a new government.

It remains unclear whether the Taliban would include other ethnic groups in their rule or would form their own exclusive government. The Taliban recaptured almost all of Afghanistan, most of which without any resistance, after the Afghan national army surrendered to the group.

Pakistan has assured visiting Afghan leaders that it would support an inclusive government representing all ethnic Afghan groups.
