Typhoon In-Fa lashes eastern China with high winds and heavy rain even as other parts of the country are still cleaning up following historic flooding.
In the city centre of Ningbo, pedestrians walk in knee-high water while first responders defend the city against further flooding with sandbags.
Shanghai and neighboring coastal areas, including Hangzhou, cancelled all flights, transport links were suspended, and schools and businesses closed as winds reached up to 137 km/h (85mph).
Authorities expect the typhoon to bring heavy rains in the coming days. In-fa comes only days after deadly floods wreaked havoc in central China.
