The Pentagon is reportedly using an Air Force base in Texas to secretly fly illegal migrants on passenger planes for "resettlement" across the United States.

"This show has confirmed that the Biden administration has enlisted the US military to move illegal immigrants secretly around our country", Fox News host Tucker Carlson revealed, citing an internal email sent in the Laughlin Air Force Base.

The letter read, "Over the next few days, weeks, or months you may see passenger aircraft on a ramp transporting undocumented non-citizens. Please review the attached guidance on the issue. Do not take photographs and refrain from posting anything on social media

Carlson said that he wonders where "all these people are going".

"Several times ICE [US Immigration and Customs Enforcement] promised us additional details but in the end we never heard back. Apparently Americans do not have a right to know where foreign nationals are being resettled in their own country", the Fox News host added.

The refugees crisis is deepening in the US, with US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) saying it reached a new record high in May, when a total of 180,034 asylums seekers were detained along the country's southern border with Mexico, the biggest monthly total since April 2000.

A Pentagon spokesman said that the Laughlin base in Texas is being used to fly migrants, describing the flights as an ICE "mission" and "non-citizen movement".

ICE used the airbase in 2019, when the federal law enforcement agency transported migrants from one border crossing to another for deportation.

The refugee crisis kicked off in southern US border after President Joe Biden vowed to unwind the Trump administration's hardline immigration policies, ending "harsh and extreme immigration enforcement", promising to restore the asylum system and halting construction of a controversial border wall.

Some US Republicans blamed Joe Biden for a “manmade humanitarian disaster” at US southern border as the detention of asylum seekers, in particular unaccompanied migrant children, continues.

"It is a humanitarian disaster and it is manmade. Joe Biden caused this with political decisions made in the opening weeks of this administration," Ted Cruz said in April.

Earlier in July, Former US president Donald Trump accused his Democratic successor Biden of neglecting national security by dismantling border controls that have opened the floodgate to illegal immigration into the country.
