Copa America: Argentina beat Colombia in shootout, into final

Argentina have reached the Copa America final after a 3-2 penalty-shootout win over Colombia, following a 1-all draw in regulation.

Argentina needed only seven minutes to get the go-ahead, as Lionel Messi set up Lautaro Martinez to drill home the opener.

Colombia leveled the score on the hour mark, when Luis Diaz completed a surprise counter-attack with a fine finish from a tight angle.

In the shootouts, Emiliano Martinez was the hero for Argentina, as he saved three spot-kicks from Davinson Sanchez, Yerry Mina and Edwin Cardona, while Messi, Martinez and Leandro Paredes scored to take their team into the final against Brazil at Rio de Janeiro's Maracana Stadium on Sunday.

Argentina are now unbeaten in 19 games, with their last loss against Brazil in the semi-final of the 2019 Copa America.
