Royal Air Force in latest Iraq boming raid

The Royal Air Force has bombed northern Iraq five times this year

Royal Air force (RAF) fighter jets have conducted a bombing mission in north-western Iraq, allegedly targeting the Takfiri terrorist group Daesh.

According to the Ministry of Defense (MoD), a pair of RAF Typhoon FGR4s attacked Daesh targets with two Paveway IV precision guided bombs.

The bombing raid was reportedly carried out on May 11 and was directed against targts situated 25 miles (40 km) southwest of Mosul.

The MoD claims the bombs directly impacted their targets eliminating a “number” of Daesh terrorists in the process.

According to the MoD, the bombing raid was requested by Iraqi forces which had come under “heavy small arms fire” from alleged Daesh elements.

The Iraqi forces allegedly requested air support from the “international coalition”, thus prompting the RAF bombing mission.

The latest RAF bombing raid over Iraq follows four days of strikes against alleged Daesh positions back in March.

The RAF struck alleged Daesh targets in the Makhmur mountain region (south-west of Erbil) between March 10-12 and then again on March 14.

The latest RAF operation unfolds against intensified British military operations in different parts of the world.

Just two days ago, the MoD and aligned British media went out of their way to publicize and over-dramatize a British military operation against an unknown militant group in Mali.

The British media, in tandem with the MoD, claimed the group was aligned to Daesh but there has been no independent verification of that.
