Australian Open: Djokovic beats Fritz despite injury

Novak Djokovic escaped an upset after battling past American Taylor Fritz in 5 sets.

The World No.1 appeared to be in control of the match by winning the first two sets 7-6 and 6-4. But then he was hampered by a side injury that saw him lose the next two sets 3-6 and 4-6.

Nonetheless, the Serbian held off the pain to take the final set and the match at 6-2.

He is set to meet Milos Raonic in the 4th round, but it’s yet not known if the Serbian would be able to continue the tournament as he has only 2 days to get recovered from the injury.
