Lakers top Grizzlies 94-92 for 4th straight win

A look at the NBA, the visiting Los Angeles Lakers have extended their winning streak to 4 games by edging past the Memphis Grizzlies 94 to 92.

The defending champions got off to a slow start, trailing by 5 points by the end of the 1st quarter before cutting the deficit at the intermission. The Lakers then outscored Memphis 22 to 19 in the 3rd quarter, yet they were lagging behind by a single point before grabbing the 4th frame at 27 to 24.

Anthony Davis and LeBron James each scored 26 points for the Lakers, who will next face the San Antonio Spurs. Up next for the Grizzlies is a game with the Cleveland Cavaliers in Memphis.

Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets cruised to a 130 to 96 victory over the Utah Jazz in New York. The Nets, who led by as many as 26 points in the first half, took a 63 to 44 lead before heading to the locker rooms.

Brooklyn extended their lead to 98-73, entering the final frame with a 25-point advantage before completing the rout. Kyrie Irving scored 29 points in 3 quarters for the Nets, who played without Kevin Durant, while Donovan Mitchell scored 31 points for Utah.
