Roger Federer to miss 2021 Australian Open

Six-time champion Australian Open, Roger Federer, has withdrawn from the upcoming Tournament, as he continues his recovery from Knee Surgery.

The Swiss Maestro has played in the first Grand Slam of the tennis season, 21 years in a row, but this is the 1st time in his career that he will miss the Open. The 20-time Grand Slam Winner, has not played since January because of two knee operations, and hoped to return at the delayed Australian Open, which starts on the 8th of February in Melbourne.

Federer's most recent competitive match was a semi-final defeat by eventual champion Novak Djokovic, at the 2020 Australian Open.
