Venezuelans hail what they call their and Iran’s latest victory in the continuous struggle of tearing down the United States’ illegal blockade.

‘Megasis’ is the name of Iran’s new supermarket in Caracas, which is also the first of its kind in the whole Latin American region.

Covering an area of 20,000 square meters, the store is selling more than 2,500 Iranian items including foodstuff, clothing, detergents, plastic, disposable products, nuts, and even tractors.

In political terms, both Iranian and Venezuelan officials say the new store represents a new era of cooperation between Caracas and Tehran that is still extending to many more areas.

They believe this step is breaking the paradigm of US power to subjugate sovereign countries.

Meanwhile, in practical terms, Venezuelans hail the wide variety of products in the store.

The store is equipped with a kind of high-tech COVID-19 shield. It fills a massive warehouse in eastern Caracas, a cross between Home Depot and Costco.

In May, Iran sent five gasoline tankers to Venezuela, easing the severe gas shortage, and a ship with food in June, most of it for the new supermarket.

Iran's supermarket in Venezuela carries a significant message to Washington, proving that its illegal sanctions will not prevent these two sovereign nations from tightening their ties in all areas.
