Bayern Munich win 8th Bundesliga title

Bayern Munich have clinched the 8th consecutive Bundesliga title, after edging Werder Bremen 1-nil at the Weser-Stadion.

The Bavarians piled up the pressure from the onset and got on the score-sheet, when Poland striker, Robert Lewandowski, scored his 31st League’s goal of the season from Jerome Boateng's chipped pass, before the halftime.

The defending champions sealed the league, with two games to spare, and they are now 10 points clear of Borussia Dortmund, who have 3 matches in hand.

Bayern Munich are now looking for the German Cup final, where they will meet Bayer Leverkusen on the 4th of July.

Meanwhile, Borussia Monchengladbach boosted their UEFA Champions League qualification hopes, with a 3-nil win over Wolfsburg at home.

The hosts finished the 1st half with a 2-nil lead, after Jonas Hofmann scored a brace. Gladbach then kept up the momentum after the break and Lars Stindl put the result beyond doubt with a calm finish in the 65th minute.

The win moved Gladbach up to 4th spot on 59 points, two ahead of Bayer Leverkusen, who welcome FC Cologne on Wednesday.
