The hosts also had the brighter start to the 2nd period, but failed to translate their dominance into goals. They were ultimately made to pay, just short of the hour mark, when Spanish midfielder Fabian Ruiz unleashed a stunner into the left corner.
That strike proved the difference between the 2 sides as Napoli take a slim advantage into the return leg at their Stadio San Paolo on the 5th of March. Juventus host AC Milan in the other semi-final on Thursday.
