Premier League: Everton 2-1 Newcastle United
Everton have continued their revival under new manager Carlo Ancelotti, and climbed into the top half of the Premier League, after edging past their hosts Newcastle United 2-1.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin rewarded the visitors' bright start as he swept home a deflected ball from close range in the 13th minute.
The Magpies responded in the 56th minute and grabbed the equalizer through Fabian Schar.
However, Newcastle were level for only eight minutes, as they were caught out by Everton's rapid counter-attack. Calvert-Lewin slid home his 10th goal of the season in style.
The win means Everton are 10th in the table on 25 points, one place above Newcastle on goal difference.
