Thousands of demonstrators have staged a rally in London on November 3 to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, when Britain promised the Jews a homeland in Palestine. This eventually led to the creation of Israel and the dispossession of the Palestinian people.

At the same time, British Prime Minister Theresa May will be celebrating the Balfour Declaration with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and members of the British Zionist movement.

100 years after Balfour Britain remains a strong supporter of Israel. It sells Israel weapons, it supports Israel politically and it has a thriving trading relationship with Tel Aviv.
