The Paris attacks on Friday will give the US and its allies a basis to expand their “war of aggression” against Muslim countries and infringe on civil liberties in the West, says a political and military analyst in New York.
“We now are using this latest act to gin up the desire of certain interests to put more troops on the ground,” Michael Burns told Press TV on Tuesday.
“This is very reactionary and it’s very ineffectual in terms of any world peace,” Burns said.
“It’s really a tragic time, the net effect of all this is going to be a reduction of Western freedoms in France and in the US,” he added.
The administration of US president Barack Obama has vowed to intensify efforts to wipe out the Daesh (ISIL) terrorist group following the terrorist attacks in the French capital that killed scores of people.
At least 132 people were killed and over 350 others were injured in Paris on Friday night, in the deadliest attacks to hit the country since the Second World War.
ISIL claimed responsibility for the attacks, which French President Francois Hollande described as "an act of war."
“As far as France goes, they just want to haul the US into another face-saving and country-saving war,” Burns said.
SIL terrorists, who were initially trained by the CIA in Jordan in 2012 to destabilize the Syrian government, now control parts of Syria and Iraq. They have been engaged in crimes against humanity in the areas under their control.
Independent American analysts such as former White House official Paul Craig Roberts, say the United States and NATO actually orchestrated the Paris attacks as a “false flag” to intensify the war in Syria in order to counter Russia.
Moscow has been conducting airstrikes in Syria against Daesh terrorists since September 30.
