The Takfiri terrorist group ISIL has killed three tribal leaders in Afghanistan’s eastern province of Nangarhar, Press TV reports.
Malik Amin, a tribal leader in the province’s Achin District, made the announcement on Friday.
He said shooting attacks by ISIL militants has claimed the lives of three tribal leaders, identifying them as Mazar Haji, Rozhe Gul, and Shomal Khan.
Fazl Ahmad Shirzad, the province’s police chief, also told reporters that over the past week, attacks by foreign forces had killed 100 members of the ISIL.
The Takfiri ISIL terrorist group has reportedly extended its presence in Afghanistan.
On June 16, the Taliban warned ISIL leader Ibrahim al-Samarrai aka Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi against “waging a parallel insurgency in Afghanistan.” It was reported on June 28 that at least 12 people had been killed in clashes between the Taliban militants and the ISIL terrorists in eastern Afghanistan.

Last month, the Pentagon reportedly told the US Congress in a report that there was “evidence of limited recruiting efforts” by ISIL in Afghanistan, but added that, “ISIL presence and influence in Afghanistan remains in the initial exploratory phase.”
“ISIL will likely continue to try to expand its presence in Afghanistan during the upcoming year, and it will compete for relevance with the Taliban and other extant terrorist and insurgent groups,” the report said, adding that the Taliban were also watching ISIL carefully.
The ISIL terrorist group is mainly operative in parts of Syria and Iraq.
