A small plane with three people aboard has crashed into a home on a blind street in Plainfield, Massachusetts, according to the National Transportation Safety Board.
All three people died in the accident that took place about 30 miles (48 kilometers) southwest of Boston, at about 5:00 p.m. Sunday.
Fire fighters were battling the blaze that was caused by the crash, Massachusetts State Police spokesman Dave Procopio said.
Reports said that several local fire departments had responded to the accident. The occupants of the house under fire got out safely.
The Beechcraft BE36 aircraft had taken off from Lancaster Airport in Pennsylvania and was flying toward an airport in Norwood, Massachusetts.
Police and emergency medical personnel were also rushed to the scene, and officials said National Transportation Safety Board representatives were en route.
The Federal Aviation Administration was likely to probe the crash.
