Volunteer Work Experience Vacancies

We can arrange a two-week, volunteer work experience placement in one of the following fields:

Camera-Operating
Video Editing using Final Cut Pro
Researching News and Current Affairs

- Placement

The placement is a volunteer work experience placement. It is not intended to be a legally binding contract of any kind and may be cancelled without notice at any time at the discretion of either party. It is NOT any of the following:

Employment position;
Internship;
Apprenticeship;
Training course;
Education course;
School work experience placement.

- Payment

As the placement is a volunteer activity, it is understood to be outside the scope of the UK’s National Minimum Wage legislation. Therefore, the placement is unpaid.

- Expenses

You shall be reimbursed for your travel expenses only. Your travel expenses shall only include your expenses incurred from home to work and from work to home within the Greater London area. Expenses shall only be accepted for travel via your own vehicle, the Tube and/or bus. You will need to present to your allocated supervisor evidence of your travel expenses at the end of each week.

- No obligations

During the two-week placement, you will have no obligations. You may come and go as you please. You shall be under no obligation to perform any activity in accordance with instructions. However, should any times of attendance be agreed, you shall be asked, as a matter of courtesy, to inform your allocated supervisor of any changes to your hours or days of attendance.

- Supervision

Should you wish to undertake any authorised activity during the placement, it shall be under the strict supervision of an allocated supervisor.

- Eligibility

Aged 18 or above;
Available Mondays to Fridays;
Six months’ proven experience in the relevant field;
Proven passion for news and current affairs.
