US-Israeli genocide in Gaza

Eight months of non-stop Israeli bombardment has left almost nothing but a long trail of death and destruction. Latest Israeli airstrikes in the north have left eight Palestinians killed and 14 others injured across the Gaza city. Meanwhile, Israel’s military invasion of the southern city of Rafah is now underway. Regime's warplanes are pounding residential areas there, killing several civilians, most of them children. Earlier on Tuesday, Israeli forces took control of the Rafah border crossing with Egypt, blocking the entry of aid to the densely populated city. Heavy air raids have also been reported in central Gaza, with Nuseirat refugee camp remaining the main target. Gaza health ministry says at least 54 people were killed and 96 others injured in a matter of 24 hours. The overall Palestinian death toll now stands at nearly 34,800.

Israel Rafah invasion

Palestinian resistance movement Hamas says the ball is now in Israel’s court after the group accepted the new proposal for a Gaza ceasefire. A senior Hamas representative in Lebanon says the proposal was put forward by Egyptian and Qatari mediators as well as the US after months of negotiations. Osama Hamdan says the proposal includes the main demands of Palestinians which are a total cessation of the Israeli aggression and withdrawal of occupation forces from the Gaza strip. He condemned the attack on Rafah Border Crossing as a serious escalation, calling it a blatant attempt to sabotage the mediation efforts to reach an agreement.

Operation True Promise

Tehran says regional resistance groups have not played any role in Iran's retaliatory attacks on Israeli targets last month. Iranian ambassador to the UN, Amir Saeed Iravani made the remarks in a letter to the UN secretary general Antonio Guterres. He stressed that Iran does not have any proxies in the region, and no individual, group, or nation operates under Tehran’s directive. Iravani said that Iran’s punitive operation in April was a legitimate response to Israel’s aggression on the consular section of the Iranian embassy in Syria and, therefore, was in line with Tehran's inherent right to self-defense. The remarks came following Israeli ambassador's claims that regional resistance groups cooperated with Tehran in its attacks on military targets in the occupied territories. Iravani said such baseless accusations are a futile attempt to divert global attention from Israel’s genocidal war in Gaza.
