Gaza govt. decries fresh Israeli attack on war-hit Palestinian aid-seekers
The Hamas-run government in the Gaza Strip, which is enduring a genocidal Israeli war, has decried the regime's latest attack on people amassing to collect aid in the violence-wracked and Tel Aviv-besieged coastal sliver.
The Government Media Office issued the condemnation in a statement on Monday, shortly after a number of Palestinians were wounded, when Israeli troops opened fire on the people trying to reach an aid-laden truck at the Kuwaiti Roundabout in Gaza City.
The attack "is an exacerbation of famine, an entrenchment of the siege, and a lack of desire to end this humanitarian disaster," the statement read.
The assault was the third of its kind to take place against aid-seeking Palestinians since late last month.
On Thursday, Israeli forces opened fire on Palestinians waiting for humanitarian aid near al-Nabulsi Roundabout in Gaza City, killing at least 112 people and injuring hundreds of others.
The massacre has been met with strong condemnation from different states and international organizations.
On Sunday, however, the Israeli military bombed another aid truck in the city of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza, killing and injuring scores of starving Palestinians, who had amassed there to collect foodstuffs.
The attacks come as the Palestinian death toll from an October 7-present genocidal war by the regime against coastal sliver has crossed the 30,500 mark.
The regime launched the war following al-Aqsa Storm, a surprise operation by Gaza's resistance groups, including Hamas, against the occupied territories that was staged in response to intensification of Tel Aviv's decades-long campaign of occupation and aggression against Palestinians.
Still commenting on the latest Israeli attack on Palestinian aid-seekers, the media office said, "We hold the American administration, the [Israeli] occupation, and the international community fully responsible for worsening [of] the humanitarian situation and the exacerbation of the humanitarian disaster in the Gaza Strip amid rising numbers of deaths due to hunger, malnutrition, and drought."
"We demand the end of the genocide and the entry of 1000 trucks of aid to all governorates, especially [those lying in] the northern Gaza Strip," it concluded.
