The Al-Qassam Brigades has fired barrages of missiles at Tel Aviv and other cities in the Israeli-occupied territories in response to the Israeli bombing of civilians in Gaza, as its fighters engaged in fierce clashes with Israeli troops inside the strip.

Al-Qassam, the armed wing of the Hamas resistance movement, said in separate statements on Friday that it fired rockets at the cities of Asqalan, Ashdod, Sderot, Netivot, and Beersheba, as well as the Ra’im military base.

It also said its fighters attacked Israeli forces in northern Gaza, including an Israeli tank and a troop carrier.

They attacked a group of Israeli soldiers stationed inside a building in Beit Hanoun using four anti-personnel and anti-fortification shells, a statement said.

Separately, the al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, said it attacked several towns in response to Israeli bombings. It said it targeted the Kissufim kibbutz with 107 missiles.

The movement said its fighters had engaged in fierce clashes with Israeli soldiers near Al-Rantisi Hospital in the Al-Nasr neighborhood in Gaza City.

The Al-Quds brigades also said its fighters shot down an Israeli Skylark drone in central Gaza.

Hezbollah resumes attacks

The Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah also resumed its anti-Israel operations in support of the resistance in Gaza, which were on a pause throughout the seven-day truce.

The movement said it targeted groups of Israeli soldiers at Jal al-Alam, Al-Marj, and Ramya military positions, as well as the Ramim barracks.

Israeli occupation’s artillery attacked several areas in southern Lebanon, killing a mother and her son in the Lebanese town of Houla.

Hezbollah has vowed the Lebanon-Palestine border would remain an active front line as long as Israel’s aggression against Gaza continues.

Gaza's Ministry of Health says at least 109 people have been killed and hundreds more have been injured as the Israeli regime resumed military operations and targeted residential areas and refugee camps across the densely-populated areas since Friday morning when a week-long truce expired.

The truce, which was extended twice, began on November 24. It had paused brutal Israeli strikes on Gaza that began in early October and killed more than 15,000 Palestinians.

International bodies have called for more time to get medical supplies, food and fuel into Gaza, where an estimated 1.7 million people have been forced from their homes.

The fighting resumed after US top diplomat Antony Blinken visited the region and held talks with Israeli leaders. Other world leaders, and aid groups, had sought an extended pause.
