UK Labour Party membership 'purges' sparking mass exodus

The UK's biggest opposition party has entered into a membership crisis as close to 100,000 members abandon the party over the past 12 months. On Tuesday, the electoral Commission revealed that the UK Labour Party's membership fell by more than 91,000 in 2021 with a loss of income from membership fees contributing towards the party’s end-of-year financial deficit of £5m.
