The Israeli regime has demolished the family homes of two Palestinian prisoners in the occupied West Bank, whom it has accused of carrying out a stabbing attack, displacing their residents.

Palestine's official Wafa news agency, citing local sources, reported that Israeli military forces raided Rummana town, northwest of Jenin, early on Monday, and razed down the houses belonging to the inmates Assad Yousef al-Rifai and Subhi Imad Sbeihat.

The two men have been detained by Israeli forces since May after the occupying regime accused them of being involved in a stabbing attack in the city of Bnei Brak, east of Tel Aviv.

Before razing the houses, Israeli military vehicles cordoned off the houses and Israeli troops were deployed on the roofs of the surrounding buildings.

As a result, seven members of Sbeihat family were left homeless after their two-story house was demolished. Seven members of Rifai family were also displaced after their one floor house was torn down.

Dozens of local residents also suffered breathing problems after the IOF fired teargas bombs during the demolition process.

The Tel Aviv regime regularly destroys the homes of Palestinians it blames for attacks on Israeli settlers, in an act of collective punishment condemned by human rights activists.

Thousands of Palestinians, in spite of the fact that they had done nothing wrong and were not suspected of any wrongdoing, have been displaced due to the regime’s cruel policy since 1967.

PPS: Israeli forces killed 30 Palestinians, detained 400 from Jenin since 2022

Separately on Sunday, the Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS) said Israeli forces have killed 30 Palestinians and detained 400 others from the city of Jenin in the north of the occupied West Bank since the beginning of 2022.

The PPS said in a report that Israeli forces have demolished seven houses belonging to the families of Palestinian prisoners accused of killing Israelis since January 1 of this year.

It went on to say that four of the houses were demolished in the town of Silat al-Harithiya, west of Jenin, another in the village of Yabad and two others in the Rummana town.

The PPS further noted that the Israeli military has also arrested some 400 people, including four women, since the start of this year, adding that 175 prisoners from Jenin are serving long prison terms, including 75 who are sentenced to life imprisonment.

There are reportedly more than 7,000 Palestinians held at Israeli jails. Hundreds of the inmates have been apparently incarcerated under the practice of administrative detention.
