BRICS Expansion Proposal

China wants to expand group of emerging economies known as BRICS. It will be the first shake up of bloc in over a decade. Brazil, Russia, India, China initially formed BRIC in 2009, and South Africa joined the bloc in 2010.

Member states back China’s call for expansion of bloc but have yet to name candidate countries to join BRICS. In this edition of the Spotlight, Press TV discusses possible expansion of BRICS and what that means on a global scale in interviews with William Jones Washington Bureau Chief of Executive Intelligence Review from Leesburg and Arnold August author and journalist from Montreal.
