S Korea's overtures to N Korea: Will denuclearization take place?
The new South Korean President has made an offer to North Korea, which in his eyes, may diffuse tensions on the Korean Peninsula: economic incentives, for denuclearization.
This approach, however, is nothing new, and has not materialized in the past. So why would he think that this would work with the North Korean President, whose nuclear weapons are part of the deterrence program for North Korea?
