NBA: Brooklyn Nets 120-105 New Orleans Pelicans

Over the NBA news, the Brooklyn Nets have cruised to a 120-105 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans, despite losing Kevin Durant to knee injury.

The Nets outplayed the Pelicans to jump out to a massive 28-point lead at the intermission, before Durant had to leave the Barclays Center in the second quarter, which left an obvious impact on Brooklyn’s performance.

New Orleans took advantage of the situation and cut down the deficit to 15 points, taking the second half 64-51. However, the Eastern Conference runners-up were the winners of the night, as the Pelicans never managed to recover from the large deficit. James Harden had 13 points for the win, with Patty Mills adding 21 of his own. Next up, the Nets will travel to Cleveland to take on the Cavaliers on Monday, whereas the Pelicans will visit the Boston Celtics, on the same day.

Meanwhile in Boston, the Celtics came back late to hold off the Chicago Bulls 114-112. The hosts got off to a 32-22 lead in the first quarter.

But then Chicago fought back in the second to half the deficit to 5 points. After a tight third quarter, where the Celtics were leading 84-83, the Bulls got back on track and took the lead.

However, Boston rallied after trailing 112-106 with only two minutes left to play, scoring the last 8 points to edge out the Chicago Bulls 114-112. Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 23 points, while Nikola Vucevic tallied 27 for Chicago, in a losing effort.
