Former US President Donald Trump has resumed his attacks on President Joe Biden at his first rally of the midterm year in Arizona.

In his address from Florence on Saturday, Trump covered a plethora of issues, including the coronavirus pandemic, the economy and foreign policy as well as his false election claims.

However, he kept much of his speech focused on Biden, accusing the president of being clueless on tackling the country’s current problems.

"They're incompetent, actually," Trump said, referring to the Biden administration.

"Biden has utterly humiliated our nation," Trump said, noting that Russia and China's leaders no longer respect or fear America.

“The country is being destroyed,” he added after citing rising inflation and the US’ withdrawal from Afghanistan. “Our country is being totally destroyed.”

Trump also slammed Biden’s chief medical advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci, who worked with the former president during his administration as well.

“Biden’s made him the person. He’s like the king. Fauci’s the king,” Trump said, invoking chants of “lock him up.”

He also took the opportunity to voice his unsubstantiated claims about election fraud in the 2020 presidential election.

The former Republican president slammed the House's select committee, which has been probing the deadly Jan. 6 riot on the US Capitol.

He referred to the committee as “the unselect committee of political hacks.”

Trump also denounced what he called the inhumane treatment of those who were arrested during the storming of the Capitol.

“What’s happening to those people in those jails — why aren’t they doing it to Antifa and Black Lives Matter?” Trump said. “Partisan Democrats have celebrated their indefinite detention without trial.”

The rally comes as Republicans are optimistic ahead of the midterms in November. Arizona, in particular, will be a major battleground, with a high profile Senate and governors race.

“2022, despite so far being a total catastrophe for the country, is going to be a big one for the people of this state,” Trump told the crowd.
