Saudi Arabia has accelerated it deadly airstrikes on the Yemeni capital, Sana’a, and elsewhere in the country, as Yemeni army troops and fighters from allied Popular Committees continue to advance in the strategic province of Ma’rib.

Saudi fighter jets struck an area in the Sahar district of Yemen’s mountainous northwestern province of Sa’ada late on Tuesday, leaving three citizens dead and several others injured, the Arabic-language al-Masirah television network reported.

Saudi warplanes also targeted Atfin area in the Kitaf wa al-Boqe’e district of the same Yemeni province, but there were no immediate reports of possible casualties and the extent of damage caused.

Saudi military aircraft conducted two air raids on al-Fara' area in the same district of Sa’ada Province, without any reports about possible casualties.

Elsewhere in the Hays district of Yemen’s western coastal province of Hudaydah, Saudi jets launched three airstrikes.

More Saudi violations of Hudaydah ceasefire

Forces of the Saudi-led military coalition and their mercenaries are reported to have violated 116 times during the past 24 hours a ceasefire agreement between warring sides for the western coastal province of Hudaydah.

Al-Masirah television network, citing an unnamed source in Yemen’s Liaison and Coordination Officers Operations Room, reported that the violations included more than a dozen reconnaissance flights over various regions, including Hays, al-Jarrahi and al-Jabaliyah neighborhoods, in addition to 58 counts of artillery shelling and 36 shooting incidents.

Yemeni forces down another US-built spy drone over Ma’rib

Moreover, the spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces said army troops and allied fighters from the Popular Committees intercepted and shot down another spy drone belonging to the invading Saudi-led coalition while it was flying in the skies over Ma’rib province.

Yemeni air defense units targeted a US-built Boeing Insitu ScanEagle unmanned aerial vehicle as it was carrying out hostile acts over the al-Jubah district, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, wrote in a post published on his Twitter page on Tuesday.

The government in Sana’a has denounced the recent upsurge in the Saudi airstrikes against residential neighborhoods across Yemen, vowing that the attacks will not go unanswered.

Saudi Arabia, backed by the United States and regional allies, launched the war on Yemen in March 2015, with the goal of bringing the government of fugitive former Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi back to power and crushing the popular Ansarullah resistance movement.

The war has left hundreds of thousands of Yemenis dead, and displaced millions more. It has also destroyed Yemen’s infrastructure and spread famine and infectious diseases there.

Despite heavily-armed Saudi Arabia’s incessant bombardment of the impoverished country, the Yemeni armed forces and the Popular Committees have grown steadily in strength against the Saudi-led invaders and left Riyadh and its allies bogged down in the country.
